Take Me Home Program
The Take Me Home Program is a voluntary community safety initiative designed to assist law enforcement officers in identifying and safely returning individuals who may have difficulty communicating or become disoriented due to medical, cognitive, or developmental conditions. The program is intended to provide officers with important information that can help them respond more effectively during encounters with enrolled individuals.
Family members or caregivers may voluntarily register a loved one by providing current photographs, emergency contact information, medical considerations, communication preferences, and other pertinent details. This information is maintained securely by the department and is only accessed by authorized personnel when needed during an emergency or law enforcement response.
The Take Me Home Program is available to individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, or other medical or developmental conditions that may affect communication, orientation, or memory.
By participating in the Take Me Home Program, families can help officers provide a faster, safer, and more informed response when a loved one is lost, missing, or in need of assistance. The program is provided at no cost and reflects the department's commitment to enhancing public safety through community partnerships and compassionate policing.
