The mission of the Alice Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team is to provide a highly trained law enforcement response to situations that are high risk in nature to citizens and other police personnel. The unit plays an important role in assisting the department with achieving its overall mission of protecting lives and property and is committed to the citizens of Alice to help provide a safe community in which to live and work.
Team personnel may perform the following operations:
Hazardous search warrant execution
High risk apprehension of criminal suspects
Management and resolution of barricaded subject/hostage incidents
Counter-sniper operations
Mitigation of high risk or potentially violent incidents
